Saint Catherine of Siena - Feast Day April 29
She was a Third Order Dominican. She established a monastery for women in 1377 outside of Siena. She is credited with composing over 400 letters, her Dialogue, which is her definitive work, and her prayers.
St. Catherine would later be declared a Doctor of the Church based on her holiness and writings.
She is was declared co-patron of Italy along with Saint Francis of Assisi. Her other patronages include people ridiculed for their faith, sexual temptation, and nurses. She has has patronages for protection against fire, illness and miscarriages.
