Donation to St. Valentine Church
Please consider donating your old or broken cell phones to St. Valentine Church. The monies earned will help support the Social Concerns Committee's many projects. The collection box is in the rear of the church.
Camp Happy Times (In Summer)
The Social Concerns Ministry will once again be collecting items for children who will share a one-week miracle for children with cancer or a blood disease. Since 1983, the Valerie Fund has operated Camp Happy Times, a free one-week overnight camp experience for children ages 5-21. A display will be set up in the vestibule in early summer, and parishioners are invited to select a card with a suggested gift to purchase. All items must be new and unwrapped. There will be baskets to deposit your gift near the display. Please look for more details in the months to come, and thank you in advance for your support.
Fratelli Tutti Pope Francis gave his latest encyclical in Assisi on the vigil of the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi on October 3rd, 2020. The Encyclical entitled ‘Fratelli Tutti’ translates to ‘On Fraternity and Social Friendship.’ From the US Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) website “This greatly welcomed encyclical is a beautiful reflection on humanity’s path forward to a deeply desired and sought-after peace. Pope Francis addresses his renewed call to universal fraternity ‘to all people of good will, regardless of their religious convictions.’ ” http://www.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/encyclicals/documents/papa-francesco_20201003_enciclica-fratelli-tutti.html
